Big Bear our staycation for 2008

Okay folks this was to be a log of our short Big Bear 4th of July vacation. Instead this is our staycation. We live in Southern California. We are use to big fires and the havoc they cause. This year the fire season came early and so far they are no where near our home. We have a little cabin in the mountains of Big Bear near LA. This week was to be our family vacation. But since there are over 1000 fires in California at this time, people are franticly trying to salvage their vacation plans. Our little community of Big Bear is normally crowded on the 4th of July but this year it's worse. With thousands of extra people in town and a fire that has just started in the area we have decided to stay home. Yippee! This will be a totally unplanned staycation. Now to practice what we preach. Kevin has set the tent up. the kids are in the tent trailer and we have the blender going with Strawberry Daiquiris on the patio. Tomorrow we are thinking of going to a BBQ restaurant we found in the Entertainment Book then to the movies with coupons from the E book. Let's see how this week pans out.
