It's not Frugal - Saving money with discounts is smart!
Travel tips that make travel cheap!
Families must be creative when trying to plan a vacation. Below are a few tips and examples based on a vacation my family took last year. 17 days on the east coast.
I book the flights months in advance. Last year, I purchased for $99 each way to Louisville Kentucky. But that's not the east coast you say. You are 100% right. But with a little research I found a very inexpensive luxury car rental out of Louisville that was only $287 total for 15 days. The car was from Budget. I used a AAA discount and an upgrade coupon from Hertz. That's right Hertz. If they want your business they will honor the competitions ads.
Airfare to New York or Washington DC was twice what I paid and a car rental was 3 times the amount even with the fuel costs. Yes it was a bit of a drive, but we stopped and saw so much along the way.
Plan ahead when you have a little extra money. When planning for your trip, birthdays and holidays you can purchase Hotel & Travel Gift Cards as presents.
A great way to save money is to purchase an Entertainment Book for the city your visiting. They have discounts on amusements, lodging, food and restaurants. This could really save money for a family of 4.

You really need to ask about the discounts and upgrades, no business volunteers the information.

We save money by staying in KOA Kamping Kabins. They average about $70 a night for a family of 4 in a cabin. The highest I think we have ever paid was $85. Most of the big cities have a KOA with Cabins.
