View a Timeshare - NOT BUY A TIMESHARE!

I hate to admit it but when times were tough, our family has viewed a timeshare in order to get the vacation. Resort timeshare companies offer good deals on hotels and amusements. Nearly every major city with tourist attractions has a timeshare program.

For as low a $10 a night you can get a room in a nice hotel for the family. The catch is, you must listen to a 90 minute presentation and tour. There are usually no strings attached to these programs except the 90 minute tour. Remember, the salesmen work on commission. They are super friendly and will PRESSURE you into buying a $5,000 - $20,000 vacation timeshare after the tour. (if we had that much money, we wouldn't be taking the cheap vacation offer) Just say no thanks! Then go out and enjoy the vacation. But, if your weak or you think you will get caught up in the sales hype, this is not for you! Nothing is free, Be careful. (Enjoy the coffee pot they give you, throw away the cruise and extra vacation voucher)Be sure to check all the rules before reserving your vacation.

Email Gift Cards

Points and savings rewards every time you camp at KOA + save 10% at KOA with the KOA Value Kard Rewards membership. $24 for one year!

Money Tip!

Research the areas you wish to visit.

When you have a little money, purchase a gift card to a restaurant in you vacation area or buy a hotel or gas gift card.

Be very careful about gift cards with fees and expiration dates!

Purchase an Entertainment Book

Entertainment Books have discounts for the city you live in or for the city you're visiting. They range from $25 - $50. If you purchase on online half way through the year they're only $10. A fantastic way to save money for the summer Save on all the things you love to do!

Tired of Camping

Is your family tired of camping after a couple of days? Are there still 5 days left of vacation? Here's a tip. Try camping for a couple of days, then a night in a hotel. Alternate back and forth. This will make every night different and fun.

Ice Sliding

What do you get when you buy 4 blocks of ice, add a small grassy hill with no trees or benches, and 6 teenagers? A Blast!!. Ice Sliding. Just sit on the ice and away you go. For about $15 you can have hours of fun. This activity is made for the older kids. Even though the younger ones will want to try it. The ice can slide very fast when someone is not on it so be careful and always have a person at the bottom to stop the run away ice blocks.

How to pack a kids suitcase

Helpful hint:

In different one gallon zip lock bags,

individually roll the T-shirts, shorts and underwear.

Squeeze the air out.

Place the bags in their suitcase.

If you do this, then dirty clothes never touch clean clothes. Come laundry time, you won’t have to sort laundry and you’ll probably have less to wash because we all know a 10-year old boy will go days without a shower or changing his underwear.
